Philadelphia quarterback Nick Foles completed 22 of 32 passes for 219 yards and a touchdown with one interception Sunday against Dallas in relief of injured Michael Vick. The Redskins’ secondary, including cornerback DeAngelo Hall (below), might see facing a rookie QB is as an opporunity to repair its battered reputation.

Redskins have struggled against rookie QBs

Like the Redskins, 3-6 Eagles not quitting on season

Hope at the bottom of the NFC East division apparently goes beyond Washington. Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid didn't mince words Wednesday in describing the outlook for his team, which is 3-6 and on a five-game losing streak. Published November 14, 2012

Offensive line has Redskins off and running

You usually can find the Washington Redskins' offensive linemen sitting together on the benches outside the back door of Redskins Park before practice each afternoon. An offensive line is the sum of its parts, you know. Cohesion is essential to their success, so these guys stick together. They often walk down to the practice field as a unit, and this season they can carry themselves with a newfound pride. Published November 13, 2012

Redskins say they’re still in the hunt

Laughter competed with hip-hop beats for dominance inside the Washington Redskins' locker room after practice Monday afternoon. A blackjack game broke out, as usual. A$AP Rocky's latest single blasted from speakers in the center of the room. Nose tackle Chris Baker danced because that's what he does every day. Published November 12, 2012

Pierre Garcon returns to Redskins practice

Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon practiced Monday afternoon for the first time in a month. It's the first indication in weeks that he might play again this year instead of opting for season-ending surgery to repair his sprained right foot. Published November 12, 2012

Redskins have some pieces that fit, some that don’t

Mike Shanahan told it to everyone who would listen after he became the Washington Redskins' coach in January 2010. Returning the franchise to respectability would not happen overnight, he said. Those words have appeared in every local newspaper and on every local airwave many times since. Published November 7, 2012

Shanahan not giving up on Redskins’ season

Mike Shanahan is not giving up on the Washington Redskins' spiraling season. He does not plan to play young players for the sake of evaluation, and he still prioritizes winning above all else. Published November 5, 2012

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III collects his thoughts after he was stoppped on the 2-yard line on fourth-and-goal during the second quarter. The Panthers drove 98 yards on the ensuing possession to take a 14-3 lead. Griffin passed for 215 yards and rushed for 53 yards on 11 carries. Shanahan assessing talent for next season after Redskins’ latest loss

It wasn't supposed to be like this. In the third year of Mike Shanahan's tenure, he thought he had assembled a strong supporting cast around a budding star quarterback. Instead, after the Redskins' 21-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, the postgame conversation — with seven games remaining, mind you — centered on evaluating for next season. Robinson’s role with Redskins to grow because of speed he brings

Washington Redskins receiver Aldrick Robinson will get more playing time beginning with this Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, coach Mike Shanahan said this week. Robinson injects some speed into an offense that is without No. 1 'X' receiver Pierre Garcon and athletic tight end Fred Davis because of injuries. Published November 1, 2012

In Obama vs. Romney, Redskins elect to talk it out

Lorenzo Alexander's life was simpler four years ago. He did not have a family of five. He did not own a pilates studio in Ashburn, and he did not have a strong foothold professionally as a co-captain of the Washington Redskins. Published November 1, 2012

Redskins’ DeAngelo Hall practicing; penalty may be delayed

Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc on New York City, and, by extension, kept NFL offices closed early this week. But Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan implied that DeAngelo Hall being allowed to participate in practice could mean he won't be suspended at least for this Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers for berating an official. Redskins can’t hold onto ball, sputter in ugly loss to Steelers

Catching the football is one of the sport's most basic elements. Winning depends on it. No offense can gain yards without doing it. And the skill is just as much mental as it is physical. See the ball in the air. Get your hands on it. Secure it before turning to run. Simple enough. Published October 28, 2012

Redskins’ DeAngelo Hall: ‘We gave them that play’

DeAngelo Hall is not a quarterback, and Eli Manning is not a rocket scientist. That much was clear Wednesday when the former Pro Bowl cornerback and the reigning Super Bowl MVP traded barbs while continuing the post-mortem of Manning's 77-yard touchdown pass that lifted the New York Giants to a 27-23 win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
