Jennifer Harper

A graduate of Syracuse University, Jennifer Harper writes the daily Inside the Beltway column and provides additional coverage of breaking national news, plus long-term trends in politics, media issues, public opinion, popular culture, Hollywood foibles and “eureka” moments in health and science.

She has been a frequent broadcast commentator on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, C-SPAN, Voice of America, Citadel Broadcasting, Talk Radio Network and other news organizations. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., Ms. Harper grew up in Texas and arrived in Washington in time for Watergate -- and has been tracking the political and media landscape ever since.

She is an active member of the American Federation of TV Radio Artists and Screen Actors Guild. She has won 14 journalism awards during her years at The Washington Times.

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day on Thursday with a gathering of historians, military veterans, and politicians who will reflect on the enduring impact of Operation Overlord and the D-Day landings. American Humane pushes bill to assist country’s working dogs

"Congress is going to the dogs." That phrase comes to us from American Humane -- founded in 1877 to promote the welfare and safety of animals. The organization will visit Capitol Hill on Tuesday in support of legislation which protects the nation's working canines. Published June 3, 2024

Oddsmakers trending toward Trump win, Tim Scott veep nomination

GOP convention plans to be a good guest in Milwaukee

"Estimates put the number of people coming into the area at 45,000, with an estimated financial impact of $200 million, according to Visit Milwaukee. All those visitors will need a place to stay, and the city proper has about 6,000 hotel rooms, necessitating a need to draw on lodgings from as far away as Madison, Lake Geneva and Sheboygan.
