Jennifer Harper

A graduate of Syracuse University, Jennifer Harper writes the daily Inside the Beltway column and provides additional coverage of breaking national news, plus long-term trends in politics, media issues, public opinion, popular culture, Hollywood foibles and “eureka” moments in health and science.

She has been a frequent broadcast commentator on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, C-SPAN, Voice of America, Citadel Broadcasting, Talk Radio Network and other news organizations. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., Ms. Harper grew up in Texas and arrived in Washington in time for Watergate -- and has been tracking the political and media landscape ever since.

She is an active member of the American Federation of TV Radio Artists and Screen Actors Guild. She has won 14 journalism awards during her years at The Washington Times.

The uneasy relationship between Americans and their news media continues. A massive new survey of 10,300 people reveals that 6-out-of-10 U.S. adults agree that news organizations don't understand "people like me." The sentiment extends through multiple demographics. Like a troubled personal relationship, it's complicated. The reasons behind this rift between the people and their press differ according to political beliefs, religion, income, race, sex and age according to the survey, which was conducted by Pew Research Center in conjunction withe the Knight Foundation. Stacy Washington, military veteran and conservative commentator, gets new program on SiriusXM

SiriusXM has announced the debut of new programming set to push back against the Sunday morning talk shows. "Stacy on the Right" arrives at 10 a.m. ET -- hosted by journalist and conservative commentator Stacy Washington. She is a decorated U.S. Air Force veteran and serves as an advisory board member of Vets for Trump and Black Voices for Trump, both coalitions within President Trump's reelection campaign.
