She has been a frequent broadcast commentator on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, C-SPAN, Voice of America, Citadel Broadcasting, Talk Radio Network and other news organizations. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., Ms. Harper grew up in Texas and arrived in Washington in time for Watergate -- and has been tracking the political and media landscape ever since.

She is an active member of the American Federation of TV Radio Artists and Screen Actors Guild. She has won 14 journalism awards during her years at The Washington Times.

Hillary Clinton gives her first national interview to CNN on Tuesday

Hillary Clinton did not choose Fox News for her very first national interview since she announced her White House bid three months ago. That honor goes to CNN, though the network draws a much smaller audience: Fox News typically draws 2.2 million during primetime, CNN 619,000 according to Neilsen. But no matter. Mrs. Clinton will veer off the Iowa campaign trail on Tuesday long enough to sit down with CNN's senior political correspondent Brianna Keilar; the exchange will air at 5 p.m. and again three hours later. Congress vexes the public: 91 percent of Americans give lawmakers a negative job review

The nation appears united about about one thing: Americans remain critical of Congress, with an average nine-out-of-10 overall giving lawmakers are negative review. This includes Republicans, Democrats and independents, according to a new Harris Poll. This is the third month for rock-bottom reviews for Congress the pollster says - a finding often reflected in multiple surveys which reveal that the public is weary of partisan gridlock, a "do nothing" attitude among elected officials and continuing acrimony between the parties. Republican and conservative voters now say states have right to ignore federal court rulings

Likely Americans voters are warming to the idea that individual states should have the right to turn their backs on the federal courts in the wake of recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings on Obamacare and gay marriage. A third of likely U.S. voters now believe that states should have the right to ignore federal court rulings if their elected officials agree with them according to a Rasmussen Reports survey released Friday. Among GOP voters and conservatives, the number is much higher. Published July 3, 2015

It's quite an ironic flap: Disarm NYPD, a New York-based anarchist group that burned an American flag in a Brooklyn park earlier this week, ultimately needed the protection of the New York Police Department themselves. Late start could mean rough finish for GOP presidential hopefuls

Fox News poll: 58% voters say Obama ‘too soft’ on Islamic extremists, 69% fear an attack here

"American voters think Barack Obama is too soft on Islamic extremists, and that the U.S. fight against them is going badly," says Fox News analyst Dana Blanton. The network has released a new poll revealing that 58 percent of Americans think the president is too easy on the extremists, including nearly four in 10 Democrats (37 percent) plus 57 percent of independents and 83 percent of Republicans. He's in whether his critics like it or not. "We have had enough of talkers, it's time for doers. I'm not running for president to be somebody, I'm running for president to do something," Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal told his fans upon announcing he was running for president on Wednesday.
