Born in Elizabeth, N.J., Ms. Harper grew up in Texas and arrived in Washington in time for Watergate -- and has been tracking the political and media landscape ever since.

She is an active member of the American Federation of TV Radio Artists and Screen Actors Guild. She has won 14 journalism awards during her years at The Washington Times.

Donald Trump has ‘huge lead’ among Republican women voters, polls say

"Riding a wave of non-stop publicity, a new poll this past week shows mogul Donald Trump solidly in first place among 256 likely Republican primary and caucus voters nationwide," says pollster John Zogby, who reveals that the billionaire is in the lead with support from 20 percent of likely primary voters. The Eisenhower Memorial Commission Advisory Committee has a new member. Washington Times opinion editor David Keene has joined the six-man team now shepherding the mission to ensure that a national memorial to honor Dwight D. Eisenhower becomes a reality, and one that properly reflects both a president and a citizen devoted to public service, leadership, integrity, a lifelong work ethic and the values and processes of democracy. Congress approved the Dwight D. Eisenhower National Memorial in 1999, and the effort was signed into law by President Clinton. Published July 23, 2015

Inside the Beltway: 50 senators have plans for Planned Parenthood

Fifty senators from both sides of the aisle have acted quickly after the release of two undercover videos revealing Planned Parenthood officials referencing the harvesting and sale of fetal tissue for profit. Sen. Joni Ernst, who organized the effort, has 50 signatures on a letter to Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell, seeking an investigation of the dismal practice. Two-thirds of voters say Obama administration deal with Iran needs approval from Congress

Voters are only lukewarm when it comes to the nuclear agreement between the U.S. and Iran finalized earlier this week - while two thirds appear particularly troubled by evidence of the "imperial presidency" at work on the global stage. 65 percent of voters believe any agreement the Obama administration makes with Iran regarding the Iranian nuclear program requires the approval of Congress," says a Rasmussen Reports poll released Thursday.
