MILLER: Relief from Taxmageddon

Republicans have finally figured out how to corner President Obama on the tax issue. Within six months, Americans will be hit with a $4.3 trillion tax hike supported by Mr. Obama. By moving to pass legislation next month to stop "Taxmaggedon," the GOP is putting itself on the side of ordinary Americans. Published June 19, 2012

MILLER: Gun ownership up, crime down

Gun-control advocates are noticeably silent when crime rates decline. Their multimillion-dollar lobbying efforts are designed to manufacture mass anxiety that every gun owner is a potential killer. The statistics show otherwise. Published June 18, 2012

Obama golfing

MILLER: Obama’s 100th golf round

The next time President Obama hits the links, it will be his 100th round of golf since coming to the White House. That's quite a milestone in just 3 1/2 years. As it takes him about six hours to drive to the greens and complete 18 holes, Mr. Obama has spent the equivalent of four months' worth of work time golfing. Published June 14, 2012

Sgt. Corrigan

MILLER: D.C. cover-up after abusing veteran

Army 1st Sgt. Matthew Corrigan learned the hard way that the District of Columbia doesn't believe it has to abide by the Constitution like the 50 states do. For nearly 40 years, the nation's capital completely ignored the Second Amendment. Published June 14, 2012

MILLER: Obama’s blind spot

President Obama has a blind spot when it comes to understanding the will of the American people. The biggest legislative achievements of his first term - Obamacare and the so-called stimulus - were wildly unpopular. The public realizes these laws haven't made health care affordable nor have they produced any economic growth. Mr. Obama doesn't care. Published June 13, 2012

MILLER: ‘Lost’ in the D.C. jail

The D.C. government's refusal to recognize the full meaning of the Second Amendment has serious consequences for those who put their lives on the line to uphold the Constitution. First Sgt. Matthew Corrigan fought insurgents in Iraq with weapons provided by the U.S. Army, but the nation's capital threw him in jail for two weeks because he had failed to register three personal guns and some ammunition. MILLER: Constitution 101

With any luck, the Supreme Court will soon declare Obamacare unconstitutional. Nevertheless, conservatives think it's not a good idea to rely on the courts to prevent the next congressional overreach from becoming law. Published June 12, 2012

MILLER: Obama’s ‘fine’ economy

President Obama told the American people Friday that he believes "the private sector is doing fine." The astounding statement reverberated from the White House Briefing Room, and the negative reaction was intense. Published June 11, 2012

MILLER: Political convention blowout

Every four years, thousands of politicians, lobbyists, activists and consultants get together for an extravagant weeklong party. It's all paid for by the taxpayers. These shindigs, otherwise known as national political conventions, no longer realistically serve the purpose of selecting a presidential nominee. Published June 7, 2012

MILLER: Taxmaggedon showdown

Americans will be hit with $4.5 trillion in new taxes within six months. Unless Washington does something to stop it, "taxmaggedon" will have a devastating impact on the economy. President Obama is counting on it. Published June 6, 2012

MILLER: Hate-the-rich hypocrisy

Taxing millionaires and billionaires is at the top of President Obama's agenda. He plans to use money extracted from "the rich" to pay for his big government - but not until he's used their cash to fuel his campaign. Mr. Obama is also all too willing to break bread with the vilified hedge-fund owner or raise a glass with the awful private-equity investor as long as their wallets are open to his billion-dollar quest for re-election. The public should see through this hypocrisy. Published June 5, 2012

MILLER: Buried by Obamacare bills

President Obama promised his health care reform law would save money and reduce costs. It wasn't true then; it's certainly not true now. Lower- and middle-class Americans already have seen their premiums go up. They feel the pinch from taxes on everything from a wheelchair to a bottle of aspirin. While waiting for the Supreme Court to rescue us from this disaster, Congress needs to provide relief. Published June 4, 2012

MILLER: Business backlash

President Obama decided to stake his re-election on whether the American people will view Mitt Romney's business success as something negative. In doing so, the president betrayed his true belief that government, not private enterprise, knows best. Published May 31, 2012

MILLER: GOP’s Trump card

Mitt Romney and Donald Trump may not be cut from the same Republican cloth, but they share the goal of making Barack Obama a one-term president. The uptight, carefully controlled presidential nominee and the loose-lipped, uncontrollable businessman-TV star make an odd pair. Published May 30, 2012

MILLER: Obama’s Achilles heel

Republicans enjoyed watching President Obama get shredded by fellow Democrats last week for his campaign's attacks on capitalism. The criticism came as Mr. Obama's allies distanced themselves from advertisements that bashed free enterprise and distorted the record of Bain Capital, the firm founded by Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. MILLER: Drive across America, armed

Americans choose to take to the roads for va- cations and to visit friends and family on Memorial Day. Often, they'll bring their firearms with them for sport or personal protection, and it's perfectly legal under federal law. Published May 25, 2012

MILLER: The Obamacare PR blitz

President Obama's health care takeover is so unpopular with voters that he has stopped talking about it in public. Behind the scenes, however, he's tapping into taxpayers' pockets for a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign to change their minds. Congress wants answers. Published May 23, 2012
