Herman Cain to address CORE MLK dinner in New York
Radio talk show host Herman Cain recently announced his intention to form a presidential exploratory committee for the 2012 Republican nomination. He will be at the Congress for Racial Equality’s (CORE) annual Martin Luther King Jr. dinner in New York City this evening. The former CEO of the multi-million dollar restaurant chain Godfather's Pizza is no newcomer to politics. I spoke to Mr. Cain late last week and asked what motivated him to start laying out the groundwork for a presidential run in ’12.

Delegates at the Republican National Convention have voted in the first three rounds for candidates who are running for the Chair of the RNC. Here is the latest tally.
Steele seemingly unsure about victory
I caught up with Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele prior the RNC meeting this morning and asked about general talk that he does not have much of a chance to retain his leadership position today when elections happen for the chair position he is running for again. His answers did not seem like a candidate who was confident that he would be leading the RNC after today's election Maryland.
Does Steele really think he can win?
The Republican National Committee will elect their Chairman at the Gaylord Hotel in Maryland on Friday. Pre-buzz around the election for chair are questions as to why incumbent Michael Steele is remaining in the race given weak support among voting delegates.
Liberals continue to play armchair psychiatrists
Regardless of the mounting evidence that the alleged Tucson shooter Jared Lee Loughner was not inspired by talk-radio or "right wing rhetoric" to go to a Tucson shopping center and shoot at both private citizens, a federal judge, and Democratic Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, liberals continue to spread the myth that conservatives are the cause of violence.
Lawful gun owners become the target yet again
As a result of last weekend’s massacre in Tucson that left Arizona Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords fighting for her life and six people murdered, lawmakers on Capitol Hill have already proposed further gun control legislation. While it was unsurprising that gun control advocate Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, New York Democrat, was one of the first to propose such legislation, fellow New Yorker Rep. Peter King, a Republican, has proposed a bill that would make it unlawful to carry a legal firearm within 1000 feet of a member of Congress. Congresswoman Giffords herself is a gun owner herself. She, in fact, told The New York Times in a 2010 interview, she is the proud owner of the now vilified and very popular Glock model caliber weapon that Mr. Loughner used last Saturday. “I have a Glock 9 millimeter, and I’m a pretty good shot,” she said. Other than revolvers, the Glock is actually pretty popular among females, particularly instructors, who shoot firearms. Ms. Giffords represents the rising demographic of women, including myself, who have shot the well-favored Glock.

Dupnik's own daughter faced drug charges, but did he find her help?
Sheriff Clarence Dupnik has managed to place himself in the media spotlight by blaming the political and media climate as the reason for last weekend's Tucson's massacre. In fact, the Pima County Sheriff went as far as to blame talk radio host Rush Limbaugh for the tragic shooting that took the lives of six and wounded 14. However, if Sheriff Dupnik is willing to use this line of logic, is he then willing to take responsibility for the fact that his own adult daughter was arrested on drug charges in his own county?

Mentally ill hidden by liberal 'good intentions', revealed by public tragedy
Jared Lee Loughner, the alleged gunman who critically wounded among others Arizona Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and killed six, including: Gifford’s aide, a federal judge, and a nine-year old girl has been described as a mentally ill individual who is a drug user. Despite the fact that Mr. Loughner’s community college suspected he had mental illness issues, he was able to purchase a 9 mm weapon. Many wonder why someone like Jared Loughner’s mental illness information did not appear in the FBI background check the store used at the time Mr. Loughner purchased his weapon.

Liberals blast Palin and 'rhetoric' following AZ shooting
Did liberals like Congressman Raul Grijalva, Arizona Democrat, Markos, Moulitsas, and Andrew Sullivan speak too soon for the sake of hoping that the Tucson shooter could have had a tea party or a right of center affiliation? From all of their statements today, both said and written, it sure seems like it.
