There's more of this ahead for the new duchess of Cambridge (left), when as Kate Middletown, fiancee of Britain's Prince William, she poured champagne over a lifeboat commissioned into service in February. Princess Maxima of the Netherlands (center at right with her husband, Crown Prince Willem Alexander in the jacket behind her) was a commoner from Argentina when she married into the royal household. She has brought a commoner's touch to her royal duties and is popular with the people.
