Dennis Ray Collins, boyfriend of mystery woman in doorbell video, dead in suicide

Police identified the dead boyfriend of the Texas doorbell woman, and revealed a number of other strange details about the case involving a ghostly home-surveillance video that went viral. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that the man whose death broke open the case was 49-year-old Dennis Ray Collins. He committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest Wednesday, police said. Published August 30, 2018

Caitlin Denison is woman in doorbell video, family believes

A Nevada family had hopes Wednesday that their missing teenagers might be the woman seen ringing a doorbell in a Texas home's surveillance video. The grandmother of 19-year-old Caitlin Denison told the Houston Chronicle on Wednesday that the teen went missing nine months ago after telling family members she was meeting someone in Texas. However the woman was identified as someone else later Wednesday. Published August 29, 2018

Betsy DeVos eyes school gun purchases with federal funds

The Education Department is reportedly considering letting states purchase firearms for schools using federal funds, reversing earlier policies and despite laws that bar states from using cash from Washington that way. Published August 22, 2018

The State Department issued a statement Wednesday on South Africa moving to expropriate largely white-owned farmland, offering assurances that the country was engaged in an "open process."
