Texas Governor Rick Perry is officially on the 2012 presidential campaign trail and meeting Iowan locals. Governor Perry introduced himself to Iowa voters in Congresswoman Michele Bachmann's hometown of Waterloo on Sunday. Rep. Bachmann and Senator Santorum also spoke to crowds in the same Waterloo Ballroom. It appears from various reports, that Bachmann was kept away from supporters and reporters while Perry immersed himself into the crowds.

Republican Presidential candidate Rick Santorum surged at the Iowa Straw poll on Saturday and placed 4th among 10 other Republican candidates. The former Pennsylvania Senator spoke to reporters after the results were announced and went after Texas Governor Rick Perry, who just announced his presidential candidacy from Charleston, South Carolina.

Governor Sarah Palin appeared at the Iowa State Fair on Friday afternoon and was immediately mobbed by by supporters and media. Walking next to her husband Todd, Ms. Palin signed autographs and posed with her supporters as a swarm fair attendees moved slowly around her. I managed to talk briefly with the former Alaska Governor and Republican vice presidential candidate and asked for her thoughts on the GOP debate.
