Stupak sells out pro-life movement

Congressman Bart Stupak, a Michigan Democrat, told reporters Sunday: "Make no doubt about it. There will be no public funds for abortion," as he attempted to explain why he chose to support the health care bill after striking a deal with the White House. Mr. Stupak and his cadre of self-proclaimed "pro-life" Democrats defended the Executive Order that Mr. Obama said he would sign, which Mr. Stupak believes reasserts the intentions of the Hyde Amendment.

Health care bill opponents: Executive order on abortion doesn't cut it

Reports are emerging that pro-life Congressman Bart Stupak, a Michigan Democrat, may be close to a deal with the White House regarding his issues with federal funding for abortion in the Senate health care bill. Mr. Stupak's spokeswoman toldnews outlets that a deal could be made for a presidential executive order that would address the Michigan Democrat's abortion funding objections. However, pro-life leaders and opponents of the health care legislation spoke out against the executive order idea as the best solution to keep tax-payer dollars away from the abortion industry.

Issa: Giving back a bribe for a vote changes nothing

Rep. Earl Pomeroy, a North Dakota Democrat, came under fire yesterday when the GOP began questioning if the student loan provision in the health care bill held a sweetheart deal meant to entice Mr. Pomeroy, who is currently undecided, to vote in favor of the bill. Mr. Pomeroy now says the controversial aspect of that provision will be taken out.

A North Dakota payoff attempt for a health care bill 'yea'?

Republicans are going after Rep. Earl Pomeroy, a North Dakota Democrat, who is currently undecided on the health care bill, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, for possibly setting up a sweetheart deal in the student loan provision of the health care bill in exchange for his support on the legislation.

CBO numbers will change everything--again

 Some members who are either "no" or "yes" votes could also change as well. The CBO numbers will also affect how the Democrats will go about procedurally and whether or not the Party will use the much criticized "deem and pass" measure to pass the Senate version of the health care bill through the House with out members voting on the actual legislation.
