For years Australian green groups have claimed mass deforestation and illegal logging is occurring in Asia. ICE Union employees: ICE Director won't let us enforce U.S. immigration laws

In the midst of a leaked Department of Homeland Security immigration memo that made it to Senator Chuck Grassley, Iowa Republican, outlining ways for the Obama Administration to give amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, the Center for Immigration Studies yesterday posted a letter that was authored on June 11, 2010 by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Union President Chris Crane titled: "VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE IN ICE DIRECTOR JOHN MORTON AND ODPP ASSISTANT DIRECTOR PHYLLIS COVEN."

The Liberal interpretation of the Constitution revealed

In a town hall on July 24, California Congressman Pete Stark gave us a revealing look into the mind of a liberal. He made the following statement regarding the Constitution, “I think that there are very few constitutional limits that would prevent the federal government from rules that could affect your private life.” While his honesty is admirable, this view is deeply unsettling to Americans who believe in the rule of law.

Pelosi to House: Get thee back to Washington and spend more

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, announced on Wednesday she is calling House members from their recess next week to vote on a $26 billion state aid bill. The legislation, which already passed the Senate through a procedural vote, with 61 members in favor, on Tuesday, will provide further stimulus spending to the states via Medicaid and education programs.

Rep. Waters worked political power for meeting with Paulson

Former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson told House Ethics Committee investigators that he granted Rep. Maxine Waters, California Democrat, a meeting to discuss the Treasury Department’s role with Government-Sponsored Enterprises (GSE’s) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. According to the House Ethics Committee report, he allowed the meeting solely because Ms. Waters herself asked for it. This put not only Congresswoman Waters in a convenient place but also OneUnited, a bank her husband was professionally and financially vested in.

Boxer jobs tour looks more like trail of fundraisers

Senator Barbara Boxer, California Democrat, facing a tougher re-election year than in previous campaign cycles, engaged in a recent trip around her state in early July calling it the "Jobs for California Tour." The Contra Costa Times reported that Ms. Boxer traveled for two-days on a “campaign blitz” across the state touting job-creation successes while lobbing an attack on Republican challenger and former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina.

Mr. President, Delphi workers deserve fair and equal treatment

Today, President Obama will visit Michigan to take a “victory lap” and “tout the revival of General Motors and Chrysler since the auto companies received billions in federal aid and government-assisted bankruptcies,” POLITICO reported. There is no question that a strong and growing auto industry is good news, for both our country and for auto workers.

Rep. Grijalva: Arizona boycott is off the table now

Following a preliminary injunction ruling on Wednesday morning by a federal judge who blocked a number of key provisions in Arizona's new immigration law known as SB 1070, Representative Raul Grijalva, Arizona Democrat, called off the economic boycott of his state he previously called for. As a result of the judge's decision, Mr. Grijalva feels there is no need to place economic sanctions on Arizona. He told reporters on Wednesday afternoon.
