Inhofe voted against Murkowski keeping energy post

When Bob Costa of the National Review asked Senator Jim Inhofe, Oklahoma Republican, about the senator's thoughts on Senator Lisa Murkoswki, Alaska Republican, keeping her committee positions, the Oklahoma Senator joined Senator Jim DeMint, South Carolina Republican, and revealed to us he had voted against allowing Ms. Murkowski to keep her ranking member post on the Senate Energy Committee.

What’s missing from ‘The Pledge’

Our citizens need jobs. We should not tinker with, but instead completely eliminate corporate and business income taxes. This will give the U.S. a competitive edge in job creation over most other countries. This would also make the cost of all goods go down because, duh, businesses pass on their taxation costs to consumers. It would also have the very salutary effect of eliminating the political favoritism of politicians, who crassly hand out this or that tax break to this or that industry, or subset within an industry.

Film on conservative women to be screened at Smart Girl Summit this week

Citizen’s United premiered its film Fire from the Heartland in Washington D.C. last week at the Georgetown Loews theater. The film, which spotlights the rise of conservative women, includes commentary from Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, Rep. Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Rep. Jean Schmidt of Ohio, and a number of conservative luminaries from Phyllis Schlafly to Ann Coulter among others.

Alan Grayson falsely calls opponent a 'draft dodger'

Congressman Alan Grayson, Florida Democrat, has released a nasty if not false television campaign ad against his Republican opponent Daniel Webster. In the TV Ad "Taps" is played in the background, while b-roll of military graves is shown. A voice-over says, that Republican candidate Daniel Webster didn’t "refuse the call to service." However, FactCheck.org discovered, after digging through some research, that Mr. Grayson's ad is completely false.

Sirhan book dedication sinks Ayers at the University

1960's radical William Ayers was denied emeritus faculty status from the University of Illinois when trustees Chairman Christopher Kennedy highlighted a book, Mr. Ayers dedicated to, among other individuals, Sirhan Sirhan, the man who assassinated Mr. Kennedy's father, Robert F. Kennedy.

DeMint slams GOP colleagues over propping up Murkowski

Senator Jim DeMint, South Carolina Republican, was more than disappointed with his fellow GOP members in the Senate who decided, by secret ballot, to allow Senator Lisa Murkowski, Alaska Republican, to remain as ranking member of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. Senator Murkowski lost her GOP primary to Joe Miller and is now running as a write-in candidate.
