PICKET: Palin says 'Newt called out the press'-wishes Santorum given more time to speak at debate

Governor Sarah Palin appeared at the Iowa State Fair on Friday afternoon and was immediately mobbed by by supporters and media. Walking next to her husband Todd, Ms. Palin signed autographs and posed with her supporters as a swarm fair attendees moved slowly around her. I managed to talk briefly with the former Alaska Governor and Republican vice presidential candidate and asked for her thoughts on the GOP debate.

McDonnell plans New Hampshire trip

The Virginia governor, widely considered to be on the short list for a vice presidential pick next year, is slated to be the keynote speaker at the New Hampshire Republican Party's annual fundraiser on Sept. 26th in Concord.

NoVa leaders to McDonnell: Restore our funding!

A consortium of Northern Virginia leaders is pushing Gov. Bob McDonnell to reverse a $60 million reduction in state aid to localities in the current fiscal year and to eliminate the reduction in the upcoming biennial budget — the only full budget that Mr. McDonnell will get to push during his tenure.

PICKET: Wis. unions fail to deliver state senate to Dems

Democrats failed to achieve their goal of winning three of the six Republican state senate seats in Wisconsin on Tuesday night during the recall elections. The cost for the Democrats' recall reportedly hovered around $30 million and the Party managed to capture two seats from GOP incumbents, but without a 3 seat win, Democrats could not take the State Senate majority from the Republicans.
