MILLER: Next steps for D.C. gun rights

The D.C. City Council is working on legislation this month that could ease some of the gun restrictions in the nation’s capital. While my ultimate goal is to end D.C.'s firearms registration law, I understand the limitations of dealing with a liberal council. My hope is that my personal experience as documented in the “Emily Gets Her Gun” series will help make the current registration process easier for other residents.

Coins beat bills for saving money

A new study says dropping the paper dollar in favor of a $1 coin would save the federal government $4.4 billion over the next three decades, chiefly because the coins wouldn't need to be replaced as often, reducing the cost per unit.

GOP Day among dozens filing for Thomas' council seat

Tim Day, a Republican who blew the whistle on D.C. council member Harry Thomas Jr.'s use of his nonprofit to steal funds from the city, has filed a petition to appear on the ballot in a special election to replace the disgraced legislator from Ward 5. Thomas resigned last month after pleading guilty to federal theft and tax fraud charges.
