Gay activists rush to cut checks to Obama

There was a mad dash for tickets to President Obama's New York fundraiser Monday night with Ricky Martin and gay activists in the 24 hours after Mr. Obama announced his support for gay marriage, but the Obama campaign tried to tamp down talk of the rush to cut checks, according to opensecrets.com, a site that tracks money in politics.

PICKET: General tells U.S. troops at NATO Summit to behave

The Illinois National Guard will be deployed at the upcoming NATO Summit in Chicago to help with the security of the 50 world leaders who will be meeting there this week and according to memos obtained by CNN, the military is taking no chances in the wake of the Secret Service Scandal in Colombia. The memos detail rules of proper conduct for U.S. troops during the summit.

MILLER: Injured vet’s guns stolen by D.C.

(Part 1 of 4) After being injured on his second tour of duty in Afghanistan, Lt. Augustine Kim spent the night in a D.C. jail for possessing unregistered guns. Mr. Kim was transporting his firearms from his parents’ house in New Jersey to South Carolina when he stopped at Walter Reed in Washington for a medical appointment in the summer of 2010. After being pulled over, handcuffed, arrested, thrown in jail overnight, his guns were confiscated by the city.

MILLER: D.C.’s mayor holds up gun rights

Washington gun owners’ rights are, once again, getting blown off by city leaders. While the city council voted unanimously on April 17 in favor of a bill to ease restrictions on Second Amendment rights, Mayor Vincent Gray has not signed the bill into law.

New poll gives Romney biggest lead yet
