As expected, the Nationals have placed Shawn Hill on the 15-day DL with a strained right forearm. They've also activated Odalis Perez off the 15-day DL, and Perez will start tomorrow night against the Orioles, his first appearance since left shoulder tendinitis sidelined him back on June 3.

Prospect Q&A - John Ely, White Sox

Test Abe for steroids!

Is anyone else getting sick of watching Abe dominate his way through every Presidents Race? He just stormed from the back of the pack to win by at least 15 lengths, aided by Teddy chasing after a giant penguin.

Lo Duca OK

Just wanted to post an update on something I didn't have room for in the notebook: Paul Lo Duca is doing fine a day after leaving in the second inning with light-headedness. He is not in the lineup tonight, but is available to pinch hit.

Stop red eye now!

There's no excuse for leaving "red eye" in photos anymore. This isn't as big as stopping the abuses in Darfur, but a social movement may be needed.
