Velda Norris, from Largo Md., a telecommunications operator for the past six years, fields 911 emergency and 311 non emergency phone calls during the grand opening of the Unified Communications Center. The state of the art communications center will facilitate the coordination of local and regional first responders and emergency preparedness teams, located in Ward 8 of Southeast Washington.
