He holds the Croatian diaspora and his nickname is Peruvian Messi for his notable habilities. He began his career at Universitario de Deportes, a powerhouse club of Peru, in where Ruidíaz become an idol in the 2011 season, with only 21 years old. In January 2012, he joined to Primera División club Universidad de Chile, after the good work of Azul Azul, earning under Jorge Sampaoli's orders the Torneo de Apertura and the heart of the fans.
