On May 9, 2005, Zellweger married singer Kenny Chesney. However, four months later, the couple obtained an annulment. In the annulment papers, Zellweger cited "fraud" as the reason. Under media scrutiny, she explained that the word "fraud" was simply "legal language" and "not a reflection of Kenny's character"
