The Kingdom of Hawaii was established on 1795 with the subjugation of the smaller independent chiefdoms of Oihau joined the kingdom willingly and without bloodshed or war. The Kingdom was overthrown in January 17, 1893 and the Republic of Hawaii was established, eventually to become the U.S. state of Hawaii. - Source: Wikipedia
