Franklin Hobbs and Chie Takekawa hold a framed letter and a photo of her sister at a press conference in Tokyo on Thursday. As an American GI fighting on Iwo Jima in World War II, Mr. Hobbs found the letter, photo and a now-framed drawing of an air-raid drill (below) on a fallen Japanese soldier in 1945 and took them home as a souvenirs.
