This November 1941 photo provided by Cecilia Gaerlan is a government identification picture of her father, Luis Gaerlan Jr., when he was drafted. He was later a survivor of the Bataan Death March. Cecilia Gaerlan has helped organize an event at San Francisco's Presidio, Saturday, April 8, 2017, that will honor the mostly Filipino soldiers in World War II who held off Japanese forces in the Philippines for three months without little of food or ammunition until they surrendered.
