Omar Shafik Hammami, a jihadi from Alabama whose nom de guerre was Abu Mansoor Al-Amriki, or "the American," ascended the ranks of Somalia's al-Qaeda-linked militant group al-Shabab high enough to attract a $5 million U.S. government bounty.
