The Washington Wizards weren't shy ahead of Thursday afternoon's NBA trade deadline. General manager Will Dawkins was wheeling and dealing, shipping out veterans on expiring contracts in exchange for promising young prospects and future draft picks. After two days of trades, the roster has been overhauled.

Wizards look to future after snapping 16-game losing streak

The Wizards avoided the worst kind of history on Saturday night when they beat the Timberwolves to snap a 16-game losing streak, tied for the worst stretch in franchise history. However, amid a dreadful 7-41 campaign, fans and analysts are still looking toward the Wizards' future.

Wide open NBA rookie of the year race a change from most years

At this point, there is no Victor Wembanyama in this season's NBA rookie class. There is no Paolo Banchero. And there's no Luka Doncic, Ja Morant, Karl-Anthony Towns, Damian Lillard, Kyrie Irving, Blake Griffin, Brandon Roy, Derrick Rose or Chris Paul, either.

Maxey scores 29 points to lead 76ers past Wizards

Tyrese Maxey scored the go-ahead basket with 23.7 seconds left and finished with 29 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 109-103 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.
