The Washington Nationals signed 29-year-old utility player Amed Rosario to a one-year, $2 million deal Wednesday.

Rosario joins the team after splitting the 2024 season into stints with the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds. He maintained a .280 average with three homers, 32 runs batted in and 13 steals in 103 games last year. Hplee also hit three triples and 18 doubles.

The Dominican journeyman provides a steady bat and versatile glove for a young Nationals lineup. He posted 26 multihit games in his 82 starts last year while playing shortstop, third base, second base and right field.

Since debuting with the New York Mets in 2017, Rosario has hit .273 with 63 home runs, 366 RBIs and 109 stolen bases.

Right-hander Joan Adon was designated for assignment to make room for Rosario on the Nationals’ 40-man roster.

He’s the latest player in a slew of low-key offseason moves for the Nationals, joining fellow free-agent signings in designated hitter Josh Bell and pitcher Mike Soroka. The Nationals also acquired first baseman Nathaniel Lowe in a trade with the Texas Rangers.
