OPINION:
Democrats in the House just gathered behind closed doors to discuss ways to counter President Trump’s executive orders, his America First agenda and his overall flurry of pro-liberty actions that he’s taken in his opening days in office.
They have already forgotten the trouncing their party took in the recent elections. They are characterizing Trump’s fight against the Marxist ideologues who’ve corrupted their own party as a threat of the highest order.
So they held an “emergency” Zoom meeting to brainstorm ways to make Trump moot — and mute.
“House Democrats are now fully engaged,” said Rep. Jared Huffman from California, The Hill reported. “The bell has rung. I think we see this for the constitutional test that it is, and we’re going to be aggressively pushing back.”
How come Democrats always seem to reach for the Constitution as a tool to fight Republicans, but never apply constitutional standards and principles to their own very unconstitutional actions? They use the Bible in the same manner, as a weapon to wield but never as a guide for inner reflection and personal morality.
“House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) told his troops to pursue all avenues of opposition — and take that fight to the streets, according to several Democrats who participated in the meeting,” The Hill wrote.
Democrats have certainly forgotten whom they serve: the people. Political office is not a means by which to wage war against those of differing views. Political service is not a call-to-arms for fellow party members and voters to assemble as troops in the streets and resist, resist, resist by whatever options present.
Democrats are not paid by taxpayers to wage war against the taxpayers.
“[I]t was a broad call for action — and a vigorous one,” said Rep. Gerry Connolly from Virginia, on the strategy session.
“Leader Jeffries described it as a legal fight, a legislative fight and a street fight,” Huffman said. “And I couldn’t put it better.”
Note to Democrats: You lost. You lost the election because of just such type of rhetoric that hat-tipped the American public to the utter disregard, scorn and hostility that has marked much of the Democrats’ attitudes toward citizens, toward conservatives, toward the Constitution in recent years.
Americans voted for Trump because they wanted law and order restored at the border and throughout the nation’s many communities; because they were tired of the overtaxing, overburdensome and costly regulatory rules and controls the Biden administration shoved onto the working American, driving up inflation and prices to record-setting levels; because of the nonstop persecution and prosecution of Trump, of MAGA types, of those who dared to speak differently than the Democrat Party-approved bullet points; because of the left’s regard for illegal, immoral and lunatic fringe agendas and simultaneous attacks on common sense; and because of the far-leftist lurch of the Democrat Party that held up socialist-slash-communist globalism as the shiny example of what America should be — and at the same time smashed the notion of American Exceptionalism; that is to say, God-given individual liberties and rights.
Waging war now against the very Americans who already spoke loudly at the polls in November and voted not for Democrats but rather for MAGA is stupid politicking. It’s also indicative of the left’s total refusal to learn lessons from their missteps and mistakes and miscalculations.
Democrats see politics as a war — and the American people who don’t vote for them as the enemy. This is the reality. This is the lesson MAGAs must not ever forget.
