Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and wide receiver Terry McLaurin have been selected for the Pro Bowl Games NFC roster.
Daniels has thrown for a career total of 3,530 yards and thrown 25 touchdowns. He also leads the team in rushing with 864 yards.
The rookie QB has six rushing touchdowns, second only to Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr., who has eight. He leads all NFL quarterbacks in rushing yards this season.
McLaurin caught 74 of Daniels’ passes for 12 touchdowns and 1,034 yards, leading the Commanders in both categories. He is tied for both second-most touchdowns among receivers and most touchdowns among NFC receivers with Detroit Lions wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Their selection is the first time two Washington offensive players have made the same Pro Bowl roster since offensive linemen Trent Williams and Brandon Scherff were selected in 2017.
It is also the first time that a quarterback and receiver tandem has been named to the Pro Bowl from Washington since 1991, when eventual Super Bowl champions Mark Rypien and Gary Clark were selected.
This year’s playoff-bound Commanders are also the first Washington team to hit 11 wins since the 1991 Redskins.
McLaurin is the first Washington receiver to be named to multiple Pro Bowls since Clark, having previously been chosen in 2022. Before that, none of Washington’s receivers had been named to the Pro Bowl roster since Santana Moss in 2005.
Daniels, meanwhile, is the first Washington quarterback chosen since Kirk Cousins in 2016 and the first offensive rookie to be selected since Robert Griffin III in 2012. The last Washington rookie that received a Pro Bowl nod was its previous #2 overall selection, defensive end Chase Young.
Neither player is a starter on the NFC roster; Lions signal caller Jared Goff is the starting quarterback and St. Brown and Minnesota Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson are the starting receivers.
Several other Commanders players were named as alternates for the NFC roster.
Linebacker Bobby Wagner, special teamer and linebacker Nick Bellore and long snapper Tyler Ott are first alternates, and center Tyler Biadasz, outside linebacker Frankie Luvu and punter Tress Way are second alternates.
Running back and kick returner Austin Ekeler, outside linebacker Dante Fowler Jr., and newly engaged special teamer and safety Jeremy Reaves are third alternates. Safety Jeremy Chinn and tight end Zach Ertz are fifth alternates.
The Pro Bowl Games, scheduled in between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl, involve a week of skill competitions capped off with a flag football game. The 2025 game will be held at Nicholson Fieldhouse at the University of Central Florida on Feb. 2.
