Bravo and kudos to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency and President Donald Trump for taking hundreds of illegal alien criminals off the streets, including murderers, rapists and gangbangers (“ICE arrests pass 4,500 since Trump took office,” Web, Jan. 28).

After four years of being weakened by these criminals’ presence, in just a week the country has become stronger thanks to these arrests and hopefully imminent deportations.

Particularly galling is the fact that ICE seems to know exactly who they’re looking for and where those individuals can be found. Yet the Biden administration didn’t lift a finger against this blatant public safety threat. What a complete failure of a presidency.

For the past four years, I had my wife and daughter in what I call a “soft lockdown” mode. I tried to keep them in the house and out of harm’s way as much as possible, telling them that if anything bad was going to happen to this family, “it’s going to happen to me.”

Moreover, as a public service, I made a point of helping move female staffers’ cars from a dark parking area closer to the main lighted parking lot of the restaurant/bar I frequent. Nothing could be more of a prime target for the criminal element than a female, flush with cash after working a restaurant shift, heading into a desolate parking lot late at night. Getting robbed could be the least of their worries.

Thanks to President Trump and the efforts of ICE, the degree of danger is slowly subsiding with each passing day — and it’s now the criminal illegal aliens that are now living in fear.
