Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury is sticking around for another season with quarterback Jayden Daniels. The play-caller will not interview for a head coaching job with the New Orleans Saints, according to multiple reports.
In his first season in Washington, Kingsbury orchestrated one of the most efficient offenses in the NFL. The Commanders finished the season fifth in the league in yards per game and fifth in total points per game.
Kingsbury, who coached the Arizona Cardinals from 2019 through 2023, was considered one of the top names during this year’s coaching carousel. Despite interest from the Saints and the Chicago Bears, the 45-year-old will stick with coach Dan Quinn and the Commanders next season.
Asked by reporters about a potential move earlier in the season, Kingsbury confirmed that he would like to take a head coaching job “at some point.”
“We’ll see how everything plays out, but I’m very happy here,” he said.
