Liri Albag, the 19-year-old Israel Defense Forces lookout released on Saturday after 477 days as a captive of Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip, told her parents that there are “two million terrorists” in the coastal enclave “(Israeli families of hostages confirm that Hamas will release 4 female soldiers,” Web, Jan. 24). “I sat with children aged 8 and 4 who were cursing ‘the Jews,’” she said.

Former hostage Mia Shem told Israel’s Channel 13 News, “Everyone there [in Gaza] is a terrorist. Entire families are under Hamas. I realized I was staying with a family. I started to ask myself, why am I in a family home? Why are there children here? Why is there a wife here?”

The people who advocate for a two-state solution are delusional. I trust that our new secretary of state, Marco Rubio, will not fall for this destructive plan. The facts on the ground belie the notion that the Palestinians anywhere in Israel (or anywhere in the world, for that matter) actually want two states; the stated goal for them is no Jewish state and no Jewish people, period. Genocide is their mantra down to the youngest children.

Worse, all this baseless hatred is endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly and its agencies, contrary to the stated goal for the establishment of the U.N. in the first place (which was to end war and promote peace and justice for all humankind). It didn’t say “except for Israel” The U.N were the ones who voted to establish the Jewish state in the first place. Now many of the nations that have been granted membership in this “august” entity are, for the most part, anti-semitic, anti-Israel countries that support the terrorism and brutality exhibited by the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah, not to mention their puppeteer, the Islamic Republic of Iran.

I don’t know how you reverse the lethal ideology that has for decades been imposed on the Palestinian people with the sole purpose of destroying the one Jewish nation on the planet and exterminating all Jews. Such a reversal was accomplished by the allies after World War II in Germany and in Japan. One can only hope that the nations of the world will step up and rid us of this scourge of baseless hatred and that everyone can live in peace and security. That’s what freedom-loving people everywhere want, especially the Jews in Israel and those in the diaspora.
