A disturbing recent poll by RMG Research found that 42% of 500 federal bureaucracy managers will actively oppose the policies President Trump laid out on Inauguration Day. Only 1% of those managers said they will support the new administration’s policies; shockingly, just 17% said they would obey a direct order from the president.

If these 500 polled managers are an accurate indication of the intent of the remainder of the huge civil servant bureaucracy (some 2.3 million career federal employees), then our new president faces an incredible challenge from within our own government. Can his stated agenda even make a start in the face of such resistance?

If President Trump is to counter this headwind, he must find a way to change this ingrained, negative culture among those who will be charged with doing the necessary groundwork to bring his vision to fruition. He cannot do it alone and I wish him the best of luck with this most difficult of tasks.
