NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says that diversity, equity and inclusion is about hiring the best people to fill the league’s positions — but his real objective is to ’equalize’ the hiring process to include larger numbers of people from historically underrepresented groups (“NFL backs DEI initiatives despite federal pivot,” Web, Feb. 4).

The NFL doesn’t need Goodell telling it how to hire qualified personnel; it’s quite capable of doing that on its own. What Goodell really wants is to hire people who would otherwise not qualify for the positions due to incompetence. In so doing, he’s putting the cart before the horse. Exhibit A: last week’s tragic aircraft collision near Ronald Reagan National Airport.

DEI is a concept straight out of Mao Zedong’s little black book. Mao decided everyone was equal, so he made boys and girls dress the same. He forced doctors to work in the laundry rooms at the hospitals and made the laundry workers act as doctors. And he executed anyone who wore glasses. This was all done to achieve an outcome in which the Chinese people exchanged their souls for unwavering dedication to the state. And it’s what Goodell and others like him appear to want.



Roger Goodell has had far-left political leanings since his days at Columbia University. I’m calling for his firing.
