Since the election, the Democratic Party appears to be intensifying its moral posturing. All it has left is to vilify those with different political beliefs, making it resemble more of a religion than a political party. This was evident during last Sunday night’s Grammy Awards.

Die-hard Democrats turn to politics to satisfy their need to believe in something greater than themselves. Any narrative that allows them to feel righteous and superior will do. With the aid of social media, they relish grandiose platitudes and denounce those they view as less enlightened.

They trust and remain loyal to their party, championing its principles as particularly virtuous. They confront their political opponents with a fervor that mirrors religious zeal, often lacking nuance. It comes down to good versus evil.

When politics becomes a religion, it merely widens our divides. It becomes less about uplifting society and more about defeating  opponents. If the Democrats persist on this path, they will remain in perpetual purgatory.
