U.S. forces reportedly struck the Iran-backed Houthis on Wednesday evening, hitting their weapons storage facilities in Yemen.

CNN reported, citing “three U.S. defense officials,” that the strikes were carried out by B-2 Spirit “stealth” bombers.

American forces aimed to take out the advanced weapons the militia have been using to target military and civilian vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The U.S. has struck Houthi targets before, but usually using fighter-bombers. The B-2 is a much bigger plane, capable of carrying more and more-powerful bombs and missiles.
