I recently heard that the Washington Commanders could move back to D.C. if the RFK Stadium property gets turned into a new NFL stadium (“RFK Stadium bill advances to Senate vote,” web, Nov. 19).

I fully believe this is the right track to take, as long as a couple of minor details are also included in the action.

First, the name change to Commanders was a huge mistake, as it denotes nothing about football. The prior logo was said to have originally been created by and in the likeness of an American Indian tribe in Montana. It was meant as a tribute to them. This is history that seems to have been forgotten by our diversity, equity and inclusion-obsessed cancel culture.

Second, the team logo should return to its rightful place on players’ helmets and team memorabilia, and the team name should be changed to one worthy of that logo. The name should be Warriors. The logo and that name will do much to restore the honors that the team’s prior owner sullied in his self-centered effort to make as much money as possible.

Full disclosure: I am a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and relished the games between them and D.C. I will not change, but I am totally supportive of fixing this series of wrongs that has been done. Cancel culture should be canceled.
