Is there a poultice large enough to cover the thumped Democratic Party (“’$1 billion disaster’: What went wrong for Harris campaign?” Web, Nov. 8)? Election-night crybabies — many of them noted political analysts confident of victory just a few hours before — seized on low-lying excuses such as racism and misogyny without studying the exit polls that showed growing disgust by all affinity groups at the Biden administration’s progressive policies.

It is always difficult to call yourself out, especially when the victorious standard-bearer is a reviled loudmouth who is unlikely to grant grace to losers.
