OPINION:
Last Tuesday, the people’s voice was finally heard. Whenever a candidate for political office wins both the popular and electoral vote, the message is resounding. This time, it was a resounding rejection of big-government socialism.
My Democratic friends admitted they were shocked by how far left the Biden-Harris administration was. Opening the border and believing biological males should be allowed to play in women’s sports, for example, was beyond the pale.
It’s been a week, and I still haven’t heard Biden-Harris supporters acknowledge the failed policies that led to Vice President Kamala Harris’ defeat. Why is it so hard for the Democrats to admit their mistakes and offer to support the new direction of our nation?
In my opinion, this is the essence of their mistake: They neither feel nor take any responsibility for the awful path on which they have set our country.
Since my Democratic friends continue to be in denial, let me be the first to help them. First, you can’t win by insulting and condescending to voters.
Second, you can’t win when you force radical social agendas that violate people’s First Amendment rights on voters.
Finally, you can’t win by recruiting elitists who have never suffered financial hardship a day in their lives to to tell the rest of us everything is OK.
We are entering a renaissance, and along with it a reestablishment of pro-voter priorities. These are my top suggestions for President-elect Donald Trump:
Close the border until a new, thorough vetting process can be established. Deport criminal illegals. Eliminate sanctuary cities’ status, reestablish the authority of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and refuse federal funding to any city or state that doesn’t comply.
Have the Justice Department restore criminal justice codes and judicial enforcement that stop the revolving doors of the criminal justice system. Remove leftist school curricula. Increase domestic energy production to reduce inflation, which will reduce food prices.
“We the People” have spoken.
