OPINION:
Prescient “longshoreman philosopher” Eric Hoffer never heard Iran’s hideous, genocidal “Death to Israel” chant, but he would surely have reacted to it and the recent antisemitic barbarity in Amsterdam with what he wrote in the Los Angeles Times in 1968: “The Jews are alone in the world and always will be.”
In that essay, Hoffer observed that “we can rely more on Israel than Israel can rely on us,” which is a concern because apparently we fail “to realize how vital the survival of Israel is to America and the West in general.”
He summed it up: “I have a premonition that will not leave me; as it goes with Israel so will it go with all of us. Should Israel perish, the Holocaust will be upon us all.”
Genocidal Iran has made that promise. Have we all failed to notice that the mullahs are making moves toward that devastating goal, aided by the Robert Malley types in our own government?
