Jackie Taylor, the daughter of former Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor, has committed to play college volleyball at the University of North Carolina. She’ll wear No. 21 to honor her father’s legacy, the university confirmed on Thursday.

“Like father, like daughter,” the volleyball team wrote in an X post that has been viewed more than 2 million times.

Jackie Taylor starred as a middle blocker at Gulliver Prep in Florida, leading the team to its first state volleyball championship last season.

“Playing the middle blocker position is difficult, and Jackie’s ability to learn quickly from her outstanding coaches has been important to her development,” North Carolina coach Mike Schall said on the team’s website. “Her entire family has been an integral part of her success, and we are excited to officially welcome them all to the Carolina Family.”

Sean Taylor played four seasons for Washington before he was fatally shot during a home invasion in 2007. Jackie Taylor was only 18 months old.

“Your spirit and legacy lives on in my heart, guiding and inspiring me every day,” she wrote in an April Instagram post honoring her father. “Here’s to you, Dad, and the unforgettable impact you’ve made on me! I will always look up to you.”
