The last tee time at the Korn Ferry Tour’s UNC Health Championship in Raleigh, North Carolina, Sunday was reserved for Grayson Murray. The 30-year-old wasn’t there. He died by suicide last month, rattling the golf world.

Murray’s caddy on the PGA Tour, Jay Green, helped mark the occasion. He donned his caddie bib and placed Murray’s golf bag by the first tee before a minute of silence.

Family, friends and the Raleigh community remembered the two-time PGA Tour winner during the ceremony.

“It’s a nightmare,” Murray’s parents said in a statement after his death. “We would like to thank the PGA Tour and the entire world of golf for the outpouring of support. Life wasn’t always easy for Grayson, and although he took his own life, we know he rests peacefully now.”

Murray’s family has announced plans to start a foundation in his honor. Before his death on May 25, he spoke publicly of his struggles with addiction.

“Our goal is to harness all this energy and try to make a difference in other people’s lives,” Murray’s friend Jeff Maness told Raleigh’s News & Observer.
