Rob Schneider was kicked off the stage in Canada for transphobia … and he doesn’t care.
A week after being booed and then removed in the middle of a charity event, the 60-year-old comedian was asked on the street by the New York Post what he thought of cancel culture.
The defiant star had two words:
“It’s over,” he said.
The occasion for the query was a June 1 set at a fundraiser for the Hospitals of Regina Foundation in Saskatchewan.
According to one audience member who talked to Canada’s CBC, “diversity expert” Tynan Allan, Mr. Schneider was telling jokes that were “completely inappropriate and offensive and really filled with hatred.”
“I really felt strongly after seeing many people … some were in tears, some were incredibly upset, people were leaving the room,” he told the state-run media outlet.
Mr. Allan said he “went up and asked to speak to the organizers of the event,” who at first resisted before acquiescing to his and others’ complaints.
Mr. Schneider was asked by security to leave the stage while still performing and did so without incident.
