The purported boyfriend of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis settled a divorce case on the day before a potentially embarrassing hearing.

Special prosecutor Nathan Wade settled the case with his wife Tuesday.

He had been scheduled to testify Wednesday under oath about his finances, which could have covered issues about the sources and uses of his income and his relationship with Ms. Willis.

Mr. Wade was named a special prosecutor in Ms. Willis’ case against former President Donald Trump, despite, according to numerous news reports, being involved in an illicit relationship with her and spending on her money he got for his involvement in the Trump case.

Joycelyn Mayfield Wade’s attorneys wanted to quiz her estranged husband about his finances and also to put Ms. Willis on the stand, citing her purported “unique knowledge.”

But Cobb County Superior Court Judge Henry Thompson, the Washington Post reported, issued a temporary consent order shortly before the close of Tuesday business, in which he canceled the hearing on request of both Mr. Wade and Ms. Wade.

The judge said the couple had agreed “to all issues presently before the court” and will not file a divorce agreement with the court, the judge added.

That means the public may never learn the details of Mr. Wade’s finances, the Post reported.

Mr. Trump is charged with numerous felonies, including racketeering, related to his efforts to contest the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.
