OPINION:
Drone activity prompted heightened security measures and temporarily halted operations at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio for several hours late Friday evening. It also shut down the runway at Stewart International Airport outside Newburgh, New York, which services both commercial and military flights.
But me, worry? Never. After all, the feds have assured us there is no known threat from the drones to U.S. national security. White House national security spokesperson John Kirby said: “There are more than 1 million drones that are lawfully registered with the Federal Aviation Administration here in the United States. And there are thousands of commercial, hobbyist and law enforcement drones that are lawfully in the sky on any given day. That is the ecosystem that we are dealing with” (“Mystery drone sightings continue in New Jersey and across the U.S. Here’s what we know,” web, Dec. 17).
Interesting, because I recall 51 former intelligence officials signing a memo suggesting that the Hunter Biden laptop story had all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation. Surely, though, the people in Washington wouldn’t be there if they didn’t know what they were doing. Right?
