OPINION:
The federal and state governments are failing to tell American citizens the truth about the drones flying over parts of New Jersey and New York (“New Jersey drones stump FBI; lawmakers furious at federal inaction,” web, Dec. 10).
These drones are bigger than the ones offered by Skydio or Vanguard for police or utility missions. They are of military grade and must be downed as soon as possible. The U.S. Army has a mobile anti-drone defense system that could disable or down them; why is this technology not being used? I sell these on my General Services Administration federal government contract.
Another important point is that all foreign countries can import anything they want into the United States through a diplomatic pouch agreement. Under this agreement, package contents are not inspected and do not go through customs. We need to know which country is sending in these drones and flying them over our airspace.
Why is the Biden administration letting it happen? Is this another China surveillance project, like the balloon that traveled from Alaska to North Carolina? That got shot down after a week of surveillance.
Our federal government is not telling us the truth or doing its job of protecting our airspace. I cannot wait for Jan. 20, 2025.
