A worker at a Goodyear, Arizona, Goodwill made a macabre discovery in a box of donated items Tuesday: a human skull with a fake glass green eye.

Local police were called to take the skull and send it to the Office of the Medical Examiner to cross-check it against criminal and missing persons cases.

In a post on X Wednesday, the Goodyear Police Department said that the skull was “historic” and that it “doesn’t appear to be linked to a crime.”

Police are now looking into the person who donated the skull, along with a box of other taxidermied goods.

The box contained “normal types of taxidermy, replica animal bones, things of that nature,” GYPD Public Information Officer Lisa Berry said at a press conference according to KPNX-TV.
