OPINION:
In ruling that the relatives of those who died in Boeing 737 Max planes are “crime victims,” a federal judge has opened a Pandora’s box to relatives of those who died from the effects of the COVID-19 vaccinations.
The federal government, under the PREP Act, gives companies such as Moderna and Pfizer immunity from liability if something unintentionally goes wrong. Winning any compensation under this act is almost unheard of since it has been made so difficult through administration procedures.
Sure, the ruling by the judge in the Boeing case says that relatives weren’t told about private negotiations over a settlement that prevented Boeing from criminal prosecution. Likewise, relatives of those who died following the vaccines should be covered by the ruling, since the relatives were not apprised of the situation by the government when it approved the immunity liability of the pharmaceuticals companies. It is all a matter of semantics.
