UFC legend Cain Velasquez has been arrested in California on an attempted murder charge.

San Jose Police said Tuesday that Velasquez, 39, was arrested in connection with a shooting that sent an adult male to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

“The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation at this time,” police said.

Velasquez is being held without bail and was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday at noon.
