UFC legend Cain Velasquez has been arrested in California on an attempted murder charge.
San Jose Police said Tuesday that Velasquez, 39, was arrested in connection with a shooting that sent an adult male to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Velasquez is being held without bail and was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday at noon.
Units are currently at the scene of a shooting near the intersection of Monterey Hwy and Bailey Ave.

Velasquez is a two-time UFC heavyweight champion. He first claimed the UFC heavyweight championship over Brock Lesnar in 2010. After losing the belt to Junior dos Santos in 2011, he won it back in a rematch versus Santos the following year.
