In the late 1970s, as an employee of Parsons Corporation, I was responsible for playing a role in the management of the construction of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in Texas and Louisiana (“Biden sends 5 million barrels of U.S. oil to Europe, Asia despite soaring gas prices,” Web, July 6). The Energy Department policy regarding the SPR was that it was there for national security crises, not for regular withdrawal and usage. The Biden administration is violating this policy by withdrawing reserves and providing them to other countries, including communist China. By doing this, the administration is undermining the security of the U.S. in violation of national policy.
