Did the contents of any of the boxes confiscated by FBI agents during the outrageous Mar-a-Lago raid include any of Melania Trump’s intimate personal wear (“Trump faces off with Garland in high-stakes fight,” Web, Aug. 15)? This is a fair question to ask, given the unprecedented foray into the private residence of a former president and his family. To date, a no-holds-barred war has been conducted against Donald Trump. And so, violating Mrs. Trump’s space is no doubt being shrugged off by the Justice Department and the political left as collateral damage.

The record is replete with clandestine crusades against Mr. Trump by former FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page and former Director James Comey, et al. — and now by current Director Christopher Wray. These rogue officials, past and present, have stopped at nothing in their inquisition to bring down Mr. Trump.

And of course, that smooth-tongued louse, Attorney Gen. Merrick Garland, signed off on the campaign to terrorize Mar-a-Lago under the veneer of upholding rule of law. The staff at this opulent dwelling must have been terrified at the sight of armed agents swarming the place, helicopters swirling overhead and flashing police vehicles surrounding the premises. It is no stretch to assume that agents proceeded to go after Mrs. Trump’s effects, too.

We should not tolerate or ignore the Gestapo-like intrusion into the Trumps’ private home. The consequences will reverberate through many news cycles and eventually find their place in history books.
